WOOHOO--I am going to BlogHer 2014 in San Jose, California!!!
My ticket has been purchased.
No idea how I'm getting there or where I'm staying, but there's plenty of time for that!

Speaking of conferences, I'm very excited for our son Kyle,
who is pitching an idea at Startup Milwaukee this weekend. GO KYLE!

I recently stopped looking for the missing blade for my mixer and decided to buy a new one.
The new one came with a new rubber thingy on one side of the blade, like so:
I do not like it and wrote a review giving my two cents about why.
It worked fine on this simple cream cheese dip, but when I made four cakes on Saturday,
it did this every single time;
whipped everything right up (and over) the edge,
spraying batter on the wall and me
(a little bit, but enough to be annoying).
My old one didn't do that.
I don't want to have to worry about cake splatter every time I'm making cakepops.
So, if you thought you might need to run out and buy that thing,
don't feel like you're missing anything.

I loved reading What Nobody Tells You About Yoga.

My sister submitted my Difference Makers group to one of our local news stations
that has a Making a Difference feature.
They came out and interviewed us last night.
I suspect I wasn't very articulate,
but the kids were cute, so I'm sure it'll be fine.

Finally, November is NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month).
Melisa of Suburban Scrawl has written an excellent post
with a great number of helpful ideas for writing/posting daily.
I've decided to jump in, as I could use a blogging kickstart and a free ipad mini!
Care to join me?
