As I mentioned yesterday, I visited Kendall in Minneapolis last weekend.
Of course, we enjoyed some great meals; Minneapolis is not short on restaurant choices.
On Saturday, we had nothing on our agenda,
so we decided to visit the Walker Art Center when a friend recommended it.
It was interesting and fun.
Right after that shot, we got scolded for being too close to the art.
I guess that gives us away; we are not art museum types.
While at the museum, we spent an hour watching films made by up-and-coming Minneapolis teen filmmakers and helped to vote for the best one. I love supporting kid awesomeness.
To be perfectly honest, we found the whole exhibit to be interesting but not something we plan to do very often. If the whole exhibit had been like this, I might be saying something different:
We laughed pretty hard.
but really; we could have done that with our iPad at home :)
A highlight of our time together was a visit to our dear cousin Ed,
who is currently a patient at the V.A. Hospital
Ninety-five-year-old Ed is recovering from pneumonia and the flu but was as charming as ever, exclaiming, "The people you meet when you don't have a gun!" when we first arrived. Seriously, though, he looked good but learned that he is in need of open-heart surgery. That's a pretty big deal at any age, but there are obvious risks at Ed's age. If you are the praying kind, please pray for Ed to have peace with his decision, whatever it may be.
Even though I have a to-do list a mile long, I'm so glad I went to see Kendall; I needed to get off the dizzying merry-go-round ride for a while and just hang with my girl! How about you? Are you wrapped up in something lately that's sucking up most of your focus? If so, I know a great city you could visit! :)
